Arriving by Train

The Coastal Pacific Train arrives from Christchurch via Kaikoura, and Blenheim at approximately 12.40pm each afternoon.

As it winds around the valley down into Picton you will get your first views of the township. If you look as you cross State Highway 1 you will see our large AAA Marlin Motel sign with Host Accommodation flags flying above the rooftops to the left of the train.

The train station is currently home to the "Subway" sandwich franchise, "Wilderness Guides" Walking track and kayaking specialists, and the "Sounds Air" Scenic Airline booking office who also look after the train.

Across the road is the Picton iSite visitor information centre.
